Z.M.K. & Co. seeks applications for SBC Consultant based in Peshawar.
Roles & Responsibilities
-
Provide technical support to the government in implementing SBC tasks and developing tools, templates, and plans in program districts across KP.

Support government in effective functioning of established SBC coordination mechanisms.
-
Develop SBC strategies and approaches tailored to evolving situations.
-
Engage clusters and thematic areas to strengthen multisectoral community engagement mechanisms.
-
Coordinate and assist UNICEF’s implementing partners in planning SBC interventions.
-
Build and maintain partnerships with UN agencies, INGOs, media, academia, religious and medical associations, and other relevant organizations for SBC activities.

Ensure quality implementation of program activities and humanitarian interventions in KP districts.

Promote people-centered approaches by ensuring participation of at-risk and affected populations throughout planning, implementation, and monitoring.

Provide technical oversight for rolling out SBC action plans.
-
Collaborate with CSOs to engage vulnerable communities through interpersonal communication and appropriate media.

Utilize data from assessments (e.g., Social and Behavioral Analysis, Risk Analysis) to guide interventions.

Work with AAP teams to establish and utilize community feedback mechanisms.

Conduct rapid community assessments to inform SBC work.
-
Contribute to situation reports and related documentation on SBC activities.

Develop/adapt training materials to strengthen capacity of government staff, CSOs, health and frontline workers.

Organize and facilitate capacity building sessions in coordination with provincial and Islamabad offices.

Liaise with CSOs, government, and UN partners to collect and report real-time data on SBC activities.

Participate in M&E exercises and emergency management meetings to evaluate SBC outcomes.

Train staff in writing human interest stories and documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
-
Advanced university degree in behavioural and/or social sciences (such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, or social development) or other relevant disciplines.
-
Additional understanding or training in communication for development theory, participatory processes, strategic communication planning, behaviour analysis, formative research, media, and evaluation is highly desirable.
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) or related fields.
-
Proven experience in coordinating or facilitating multi-agency SBC preparedness and emergency response, particularly in outbreak settings.
-
Strong understanding of the social, political, and economic context of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
-
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Urdu and Pashto is an asset.
