Minimum Bachelor's or MS in Psychology with PGD in Clinical psychology or counselling preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in the management of mental health problems and community-based counselling.

Should have an aptitude for working in a multidisciplinary team.

Job Description: 
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.


Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for a competent Psychologist for the Flood Recovery and Climate Resilience (RENEW) project implement at Gilgit and Baltistan Region. The Psychologist will be consulting and providing mental health support to the individuals affected by floods.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Conduct regular mental health screenings in flood affected areas to identify mantal health issues and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide psychological first aid/ counselling  and mental health support to individuals affected by the floods.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address common post-disaster mental health issues such as PTSD, depression, and stress-related disorders.
  • Develop and deliver community-based psychosocial support activities, including workshops, support groups, and awareness campaigns.
  • Train and support frontline staff and community health workers on basic psychosocial skills, stress management, and identifying at-risk individuals for referrals.
  • Assess the mental health needs of affected communities and contribute to the design and implementation of culturally appropriate MHPSS interventions.
  • Establish referral pathways for cases requiring specialized psychiatric care and coordinate with local health facilities for integrated service delivery.
  • Maintain confidential client records and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of mental health activities in line with AKHSP and donor requirements.
