Job Purpose:

To capture high-quality photos and videos that visually document the impact of the NGO’s flood emergency response and early recovery projects in KP, supporting storytelling, donor reporting, fundraising, and advocacy efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation

  • Produce high-resolution photos and videos of project activities (e.g., distributions, medical camps, community engagements).
  • Capture before-and-after visuals to demonstrate project impact.
  • Shoot and edit success stories, testimonials, and case studies from beneficiaries.

2. Editing & Production

  • Edit photos (using Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop) and videos (using Adobe Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro).
  • Create short documentaries, social media clips, and promotional videos with subtitles in Urdu/Pashto/English.
  • Ensure all content adheres to the NGO’s branding and style guidelines.

3. Field Deployment

  • Travel frequently to remote/flood-affected areas (e.g., Swat, Charsadda, D.I. Khan) for on-ground coverage.
  • Work closely with program teams to plan and capture key milestones.

4. Compliance & Ethics

  • Obtain informed consent (written/verbal) from beneficiaries before capturing visuals.
  • Adhere to child protection and ethical guidelines (e.g., blurring faces when required).
  • Ensure the safety and security of equipment and data in challenging environments.

5. Archiving & Management

  • Maintain a well-organized digital archive of all visuals with metadata (date, location, project name).
  • Provide timely visuals to communications and program teams for reports and proposals.

Emergency-Specific Tasks:

  • Deploy at short notice to document rapid response activities (e.g., flood assessments, distributions).
  • Capture visuals that highlight urgent needs and response efforts for donor communication.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Photography, Videography, Media Studies, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience:
  • 2+ years of professional experience in photography/videography, preferably with an NGO, media house, or documentary team.
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in documentary-style storytelling.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in DSLR/mirrorless cameras, drones, and audio equipment.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop).
  • Ability to operate in low-resource and high-pressure environments.
  • Languages: Fluency in Urdu and Pashto; basic English for captions/reports.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in humanitarian or emergency settings.
  • Knowledge of KP’s cultural and security context.
  • Skills in motion graphics or animation (a plus).

Working Conditions:

  • Extensive field travel (often on rough terrain and in harsh weather).
  • Flexible hours (including weekends/evenings during emergencies).

  • The NGO will provide basic equipment (if needed), but candidates are encouraged to use their own.
