Qualification:
- Reputed Engineering Institue / Geosciences degree
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years working experience of oil & gas sector.
Skills:
- Ability to design and plan Onshore vertical and deviated wells.
- Hands-on experience of working at Onshore Drilling Rigs.
- Congnizant with Well control techniques and procedures.
- Fimiliar with casing design and well planning software.
- Ability to work and deliver in a challenging enviroment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Manager of Drilling.
- Maintain full awareness of departmental goals and company structure/strategy.
- Supervise and manage well planning, well engineering, procurement, logistics, and execution phases of drilling and workover programs.
- Actively participate in and oversee casing design, mud system design, bottom hole assembly design, drilling programs, and bit selection criteria for wells.
- Prepare well prognoses and estimated drilling time breakdowns, and perform well engineering calculations.
- Finalize well economics and authorization for expenditure (AFE).
- Monitor daily drilling operations costs against the planned budget. Explore and suggest method for optimization.
- Coordinate effectively with service providers and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage resources, personnel, and inventory with sufficient lead time to meet skill and equipment needs as required.
- Ensure timely preparation of end-of-well reports, action review reports, and other drilling-related documentation.
- Verify daily drilling operation invoices from service companies promptly.
- Liaise with equipment and service providers to ensure all equipment and rental tools are delivered to the rig site as per the required schedule.
- Monitor the technical performance of service contractors against agreed performance indicators.
- Proficient in and work with drilling software such as Landmark EDM, Open Wells, Casing Seat, and Stress Check.
- Review planning and operations of Joint Venture (JV) wells.
- Actively participate in workshops, Technical Committee Meetings (TCMs), and other JV meetings.
- Follow all operational instructions/tasks from the Manager of Drilling.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of Drilling Engineers, ensuring they are adequately trained and experienced for assigned tasks.
- Oversee all activities under control in compliance with the company’s health, safety, environment, and security policies.
- Prepare and deliver presentations or lectures to students and industry professionals on Drilling-related topics.
