Key Responsibilities:

Job Responsibility #1: DRR Program Implementation & Mainstreaming (65% of the time):

  • Lead the implementation of DRR, cash-based interventions, and resilience-building initiatives at the community level, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Sensitize communities on DRR principles and mainstream them into all project activities.
  • Provide strategic guidance and quality assurance to ensure DRR is embedded in project strategies.
  • Develop innovative solutions for strengthening preparedness, response systems, and community resilience.
  • Conduct field visits for data collection, monitoring, and direct implementation support.
  • Organize and facilitate DRR training sessions for stakeholders at various levels.
  • Identify and address gaps in emergency preparedness and response readiness.
  • Promote knowledge-sharing and open data among stakeholders to enhance DRR efforts.
  • Ensure successful integration of DRR into Climate-Induced Displacement (CIP) initiatives.

Job Responsibility #2: Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement (15% of time)

  • Ensure collaboration with key actors to avoid duplication, leverage resources, and enhance program impact.
  • Maintain close coordination with local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and international partners.
  • Facilitate consultants in updating district contingency plans.
  • Strengthen information-sharing mechanisms to maximize synergies and avoid overlaps.
  • Monitor project activities and provide timely feedback to the Project Manager.

Job Responsibility #3: Reporting, Documentation & Knowledge Management (15% of time)

  • Ensures accountability, learning, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Submit daily/weekly progress updates to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain proper records (hard & soft copies) of project activities.
  • Document success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
  • Compile and analyze field data for periodic reporting.
  • Manage internal/external communications (emails, letters, requisitions).

Other Responsibilities as Assigned (5% of the time):

Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.

 

A) Qualifications (Know How)

Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies/ Environmental/ or any other relevant disciplines from a recognized university/institute.

B)      Experience/ Technical Skills 

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of DRR, development and/or emergency programming.
  • At least 05 years’ experience working within result-oriented teams; preferably with INGOs.
  • Experience in the provision of administrative and logistical support and organization of workshops.
  • Experience in research, analysis, and report writing.
  • Experience in working with government officials and non-governmental organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in complex working environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Access etc.) and experience in handling web-based applications.
