Position Summary
The Project Officer will be responsible for the overall field implementation and coordination of project activities. The incumbent will ensure timely execution of project interventions, coordination with government stakeholders and schools, supervision of field staff and facilitators, monitoring of progress against targets, and preparation of programmatic reports.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation
- Lead day-to-day implementation of project activities according to approved work plans.
- Coordinate identification, verification, and enrollment of out-of-school children.
- Organize and facilitate coordination meetings with the ICT Education Department and public schools.
- Support establishment and operationalization of Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) centers.
- Supervise implementation of accelerated learning activities and ensure quality standards.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain regular liaison with education authorities, school administrations, community representatives, and parents.
- Facilitate age-appropriate grade placement and enrollment processes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant government and community stakeholders.
Supervision and Team Management
- Supervise ALP facilitators and field personnel.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project staff.
- Conduct regular field visits and performance reviews.
Community Engagement
- Organize parental engagement and mobilization sessions.
- Support awareness activities promoting school enrollment and retention.
- Address community-level challenges affecting project implementation.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Track project progress against approved indicators and targets.
- Ensure timely collection and submission of activity reports.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and final project reports.
- Coordinate closely with the M&E Officer to ensure data quality and reporting accuracy.
Compliance and Accountability
- Ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and donor requirements.
- Maintain proper project documentation and records.
- Support procurement, distribution, and verification processes related to education kits and project activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Master's degree will be preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in education, child-focused, humanitarian, or community development projects.
- Experience working with government education departments and public schools will be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and team supervision.
- Strong understanding of educational programming, accelerated learning, and community mobilization approaches.
