Job Purpose:
Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is a leading national humanitarian organization of Pakistan, committed to preventing and alleviating human suffering by mobilizing the power of humanity through volunteers. The Health and WASH Officer role is pivotal in supporting the effective implementation of integrated health and WASH interventions in target communities. The position will coordinate with district authorities, supervise field activities, and facilitate the delivery of primary health care services through mobile health teams and community-based approaches. The officer will also support health facility rehabilitation, hygiene promotion, capacity building of staff and volunteers, and distribution of essential health and hygiene supplies. The role aims to strengthen community health systems, improve access to basic health and WASH services, and promote healthy practices among vulnerable populations in the project areas.

Major Responsibilities:
|

Coordinate with district administration and relevant stakeholders for project implementation, including facilitation of MoUs and necessary approvals.

Support program needs assessments and orient health assessment teams for data collection and analysis.

Conduct technical feasibility assessments and prepare basic designs and BOQs for rehabilitation of health facilities.
-
Assist in transportation, reception, distribution of medicines, medical equipment, health supplies and stock maintenance for project areas in KP and Baluchistan.

Support integration of Primary Health Care (PHC) services at community level through ICCM and basic first aid interventions.

Organize and facilitate trainings on ICCM and basic first aid for staff and volunteers.

Map SGBV service providers and support the establishment of referral pathways for vulnerable individuals.

Establish and strengthen Village Health and WASH Committees and support youth clubs in schools to promote community participation.

Conduct community awareness sessions on health, hygiene, and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) in target communities and schools, and support dissemination of IEC materials.

Support rehabilitation of health facilities including improvement of WASH services such as sanitation, water supply, solarization, and gender-sensitive facilities.

Assist in procurement and distribution of hygiene kits, dignity kits, mosquito nets (LLINs), and water storage containers to targeted households.

Ensure proper documentation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in accordance with organizational and donor requirements.

Any other Task assigned by the management.

Education

Experience
|

Relevant work experience of at least 3 years with humanitarian organizations in Primary Healthcare projects
-
At least 03 years of relevant work experience in WASH & HEALTH-related programs in context of emergency is required. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Health and Emergency WASH, CASH and Voucher, Climate and health and ICCM.
