1. Background

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is committed to strengthening employee well-being, enhancing professional conduct, and improving operational efficiency in alignment with its vision and mission. As part of continuous capacity building efforts, PRCS NHQ plans to organize a workshop on Stress Management and Professional Ethics for its staff.

2. Objectives of the Workshop

The primary objectives are:

  • To provide PRCS NHQ staff with practical strategies and tools for identifying, managing, and reducing workplace stress to enhance personal resilience and overall well-being.

  • To strengthen understanding and application of professional ethics, including principles of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, impartiality, and adherence to Red Cross/Red Crescent fundamental principles and organizational codes of conduct.

  • To foster a supportive work culture that improves staff performance, reduces burnout, and contributes to effective humanitarian service delivery.

  • To build staff capacity in a sustainable manner, enabling participants to apply learned skills in daily operations and potentially cascade knowledge within their teams.

3. Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities of the Trainer

The selected trainer(s) will:

  • Design and develop a comprehensive, participatory workshop curriculum/content tailored to PRCS staff context (humanitarian work, emergency response, headquarters operations).

  • Deliver the workshop using interactive, adult-learning methodologies (presentations, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, stress management exercises, self-assessment tools, and ethical dilemma discussions etc).

  • Facilitate pre- and post-workshop assessments (if required) to measure knowledge gain and participant feedback.

  • Prepare and submit all training materials (agenda, presentations, handouts, exercises) in advance for PRCS review.

  • Provide a detailed workshop report, including attendance, key outcomes, participant feedback, recommendations, and any follow-up suggestions.

  • Ensure inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with PRCS values throughout the delivery.

4. Workshop Details

  • Target Participants: PRCS National Headquarters (NHQ) staff (exact number to be confirmed, typically around 40 participants).

  • Duration: 2 days (live/in-person workshop), totaling approximately 5 hours of facilitated sessions (excluding breaks).

  • Tentative Dates: To be finalized in coordination with PRCS.

  • Venue: PRCS NHQ, Islamabad (or as specified by PRCS).

  • Language: English and/or Urdu (trainer must be fluent in both for effective delivery and facilitation).

5. Selection Criteria for Trainer(s)

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following mandatory and desirable criteria. Trainers may apply individually or as a team (one lead trainer with co-facilitator if needed for specialized topics).

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resource Management, Counseling, Ethics, or a closely related field.

  • At least 7–10 years of professional experience in delivering training/workshops on stress management, resilience building, mental health/well-being, and/or professional ethics/conduct (preferably in organizational or humanitarian settings).

  • Proven track record of conducting similar capacity-building workshops for staff in NGOs, humanitarian organizations, government, or corporate sectors (provide evidence of at least 3–5 relevant assignments in the last 5 years).

  • Demonstrated expertise in stress management techniques (e.g., mindfulness, coping strategies, work-life balance) and professional ethics (e.g., codes of conduct, ethical decision-making frameworks).

  • Fluency in English and Urdu (spoken and written).

  • Strong facilitation skills with experience in interactive, participatory adult learning methods.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Prior experience working of training and consultancy. 

  • Certification in relevant areas; stress management coaching, mindfulness-based stress reduction, professional ethics training, or counseling etc.

  • Experience in humanitarian contexts, including knowledge of workplace challenges in emergency response settings.

  • Ability to develop customized materials and conduct evaluations.

6. Deliverables

  • Detailed workshop agenda and curriculum outline to be submitted within 5 days of contract signing.

  • All training materials i-e presentations, participant handouts, exercises, reference resources.

  • Successful delivery of the 2-day workshop.

  • Final report (within 7–10 days post-workshop), including: summary of sessions, participant list, pre/post-assessment results (if conducted), feedback analysis, and recommendations.

7. Duration of Assignment and Timeline

  • Total engagement: Approximately 10 days from signing contract to submission of final report.

8. Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested trainers/consultants should submit:

  • Technical proposal including approach, methodology, draft agenda outline, relevant experience etc.

  • CV(s) highlighting relevant qualifications and experience.

  • Financial proposal (all-inclusive daily fee or lump-sum for the assignment, or per participant fee including preparation, delivery, materials, travel if applicable, and taxes).

  • References from at least 2 previous similar assignments.

  • Proof of relevant certifications/degrees (as applicable).
