JSI has been operating in Pakistan for 25 years. In Pakistan, JSI is implementing the Integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery Activity (IHSS-SD) funded by USG. The project works extensively with national and provincial governments, NGOs, and the private sector to expand access to health services. IHSS-SD Activity is committed to improving technical and institutional capacity through technical assistance and training, strategic information management, health systems strengthening, and policy development.

The IHSS-SD Activity will improve the health of underserved populations in Sindh using innovative approaches in Global Health Security (GHS), Tuberculosis (TB), and Health Systems Strengthening (HSS).

This position requires a broad range of motor pool functions. The position holder will work closely and under the direct supervision of Front Desk Officer. This position will be responsible for the transport services and vehicle repair & maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To drive at a speed adjusted to the road, weather conditions within the maximum allowable speed limit, with consideration for the safety of passengers, other road users, and the technical state of the vehicle.

• Pedestrian’s crossing points, elderly and disabled must be respected.

• Avoid overtaking school bus and maintain a slow speed near school zones/facilities

• Use horn wherever necessary, allow speed, especially where there are school children leaving school, pedestrians, narrow streets, crossings, turnings/blinds

• Maintain recommended distance from other vehicles.

• To wear seat belt and ensure that the passengers in the front seats also wear their seat belts at all times when the vehicle is in motion.

• To immediately notify his superior as well as the local authorities in case of any accident in which he is involved.

• To keep his/her driving license valid and ready for inspection.

• To make sure all necessary vehicle documents (e.g. Insurance, registration, etc.) are present in the vehicle and are up-to-date.

• To ensure necessary travel permits (approved travel authorization form) and documents are available for each journey outside the municipal limits.

• To correctly fill in the vehicle logbook with details of each journey, fuel and other vehicle repair & maintenance.

• To keep track of scheduled vehicle maintenance, in order to make sure that the vehicle is maintained properly.

• To keep the vehicle assigned clean and road worthy and refuel when necessary.

• To ensure the safe parking, whenever possible in the office and during duties.

• Perform bank related duties, deposit, utility bills and deliver the mails. 

• Any other assignment as and when required assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Minimum primary level education.

• Minimum 02 years of work experience in the related field.

• Ability to interact with people and understand basic level of English language.

• Authority to Make Commitment: As per the authority matrix

• Staff to Supervise: As per the organogram
