Job Overview
The Assistant Textile Designer will lead the instructional program for textile arts and design. You will bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern industrial design, teaching students how to create patterns, understand fabric structures, and apply aesthetic principles to wearable and decorative textiles.
Responsibilities

Teach the fundamentals of textile design, including color theory, repeat patterns, and composition for both print and weave.

Provide hands-on training in traditional methods such as Block Printing, Screen Printing, Tie-Dye, and Batik.

Introduce students to digital textile design software such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or specialized CAD tools for creating contemporary prints.

Educate trainees on fiber types (natural vs. synthetic), yarn counts, and the chemical properties of various dyes and pigments.

Guide students on how to research global and local fashion trends to create market-ready textile collections.

Assist students in compiling a professional design portfolio that showcases their conceptual sketches and finished fabric samples.

Teach standards for color fastness, shrinkage, and fabric durability to ensure designs meet industrial requirements.
Requirementes

Minimum educaion required: Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICS/I.Com).

01 year Diploma in Textile Design or Fabric Printing from a recognized technical board

Minimum of 03 years of teaching experience in a design school, vocational center, or an industrial training unit.

Strong personal portfolio demonstrating proficiency in hand-printing or digital textile layouts.

Age Limit: 18 – 30 years.

A strong eye for aesthetics, pattern, and color harmony.

Accuracy in calculating repeats and dye mixing ratios.

Deep understanding of Pakistani textile heritage, combined with modern global trends.

Ability to inspire students and provide constructive critiques of their creative work.
