Job Purpose

The Artisan & Handicrafts Trainer will be responsible for delivering structured practical and theoretical training in Pottery Making and Candle Making to Afghan refugee women under Donor ASPIRE Phase II. As per project requirements, one qualified trainer will be engaged to ensure effective skills transfer, safe learning practices, and successful completion of training leading to certification and livelihood readiness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on and classroom-based training in pottery and candle making in line with the approved curriculum.
  • Demonstrate production techniques, tool handling, finishing, and basic quality standards.
  • Ensure safe use of tools, raw materials, and equipment during training sessions.
  • Guide trainees on basic costing, product finishing, and home-based production practices.
  • Assess trainee performance through practical exercises, assignments, and final evaluations.
  • Maintain attendance records, assessment sheets, and training documentation as per Donor and HF requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the Livelihood Officer and project team for smooth training implementation.
  • Support certification and toolkit distribution processes at training completion.
  • Ensure a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all trainees.
  • Perform any other training-related duties assigned by project management.

Key Deliverables

  • Successful completion of pottery and candle making training for assigned beneficiaries.
  • Trainees assessed and prepared for certification.
  • Accurate and complete training records and reports.
  • Practical skills transfer enabling home-based and market-linked production.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in pottery making and/or candle making.
  • Prior experience in vocational or skills-based training preferred.
  • Ability to train women in community-based or humanitarian settings.
  • Strong practical demonstration and communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic safety and quality standards.
