Position Overview

The Research Associate will support quality quantitative research and data analysis to inform evidence-based policy and programmatic decision-making. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work with large datasets, and experience engaging with government stakeholders. The role is based in Karachi and involves close coordination with provincial health authorities in Sindh, and internal research team at RADS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative data analysis using large and complex datasets.
  • Clean, manage, and analyze secondary datasets (e.g., surveys, administrative data, time-series, or panel data).
  • Apply statistical and econometric methods to generate actionable insights and policy-relevant findings.
  • Prepare analytical outputs including tables, figures, briefs, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the design of research methodologies, data collection tools, and analysis plans.
  • Coordinate with government health authorities in Sindh to support data requests, validation, and interpretation of findings.
  • Contribute to policy briefs, technical reports, and presentations for government and development partners.
  • Ensure data quality, documentation, reproducibility, and adherence to research standards.
  • Support project timelines, reporting requirements, and deliverables as required.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachers (with two years of experience) or Masters (with one year of experience) degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Command over written/spoken communication in English.
  • Strong command of Python, R, or Stata.
  • Proven ability to translate data into policy-relevant insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver within tight deadlines with a strong focus to independently determine, balance and pursue competing priorities.
  • Experience working with government or public-sector stakeholders preferred.
