AKHS, P is seeking an experienced Manager Compensation & HR Operations, reporting to the Head of Human Resources.
Summary of the Role
The Manager Compensation & HR Operations leads compensation, benefits, payroll, HR operations, human capital management system, and employee relations across Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan to ensure efficient HR service delivery, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and informed workforce decision-making that supports the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and implements compensation, benefits, rewards, and recognition policies and programmes to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with Institutional policies.
- Conducts salary benchmarking, market surveys, job evaluations, and compensation analysis to support evidence-based recommendations on grading structures, salary revisions, and employee benefits.
- Establishes, reviews, and maintains the Institutional grading structure, salary scales, and compensation framework to ensure consistency, fairness, and Institutional sustainability.
- Oversees employee compensation and benefits administration to ensure timely, accurate, and policy-compliant processing of all employee entitlements.
- Manages the end-to-end monthly payroll process for management and non-management employees to ensure timely salary disbursement, statutory compliance, and accurate payroll reconciliation.
- Leads the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, moderation, increment planning, and performance-related documentation to support a high-performance culture.
- Maintains accurate employee records, personnel files, HCMS data, and employee lifecycle transactions, including appointments, promotions, transfers, confirmations, separations, and full and final settlements, to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Administers employee medical, life insurance, and other benefit programmes by coordinating with insurance providers to ensure timely enrolment, renewals, claims processing, reconciliations, and policy administration.
- Manages employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, safeguarding concerns, and employment-related investigations to ensure fair, timely, and policy-compliant resolution.
- Coordinates with legal counsel and relevant stakeholders on employment-related legal matters to ensure compliance with labour laws and Institutional policies.
- Leads the continuous enhancement of HCMS, payroll system, and digital HR solutions in collaboration with the Information Technology Department to improve automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Reviews HR operational processes and implements continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen service delivery, internal controls, and Institutional effectiveness.
- Develops HR dashboards, workforce analytics, and management reports to provide meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Prepares and monitors HR operational and manpower budgets in collaboration with Finance and departmental leadership to support effective workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Prepares statutory, management, donor, and Institutional HR reports to meet reporting requirements accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Coordinates internal, external, donor, SafeCare, ISO, and other Institutional audits by providing required documentation and ensuring timely closure of audit observations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in human resource management, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; ACCA or CA (part qualified) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in Compensation & Benefits, HR/Finance Operations, particularly in payroll and HR operations, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience, as deemed appropriate by the organization.
- Experience in a diverse healthcare organization will be an added advantage.
- Experience in implementing and managing ERP, HCMS, payroll, or finance systems.
- Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits, HR principles and procedures, employee relations, including handling disciplinary procedures, employment laws, labour regulations, taxation, and statutory requirements.
- Experience in job evaluation, salary benchmarking, grading structures, compensation design, and employee benefits administration.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including dashboards and data analysis, PowerPoint, and ERP/HCMS/payroll systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and team management skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to get things done and manage end-to-end processes with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and confidentiality.
- Strong integrity, resilience, flexibility, and ability to work effectively in a changing and diverse environment.
- Experience in HR automation and Institutional audits will be an added advantage.
