Project Background
The PRIAT Project aims to strengthen agricultural value chains, improve market access, promote crop diversification, and increase farmer incomes and resilience across selected districts of Punjab. A key project intervention is the formation and strengthening of Farmer Enterprise Groups (FEGs) to enable farmers to work collectively and improve their access to markets, services, and project support.
Role Purpose
The Social/Community Mobilizer will be responsible for mobilizing farmers, forming and strengthening Farmer Enterprise Groups (FEGs), and maintaining regular engagement with farmer communities in Chakwal District.
The position will serve as the primary field-level link between the project and farmers and will work closely with the Marketing Specialist, Marketing Associates, and technical team.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and mobilize eligible farmers in targeted villages and project value chains.

Conduct community meetings and awareness sessions to introduce PRIAT activities and FEGs.

Facilitate the formation, organization, and strengthening of Farmer Enterprise Groups (FEGs).

Maintain regular engagement with FEG members and support regular group meetings.

Maintain accurate farmer and FEG records, including membership and meeting documentation.

Mobilize farmers for trainings, demonstrations, exposure visits, market linkage activities, and other project interventions.

Support the project team in communicating market and production-related requirements to farmers.

Facilitate communication between FEGs and the project’s technical and marketing teams.

Identify farmer needs, concerns, and challenges and report them to the project team.

Prepare brief field visit, mobilization, and FEG progress reports.
Qualifications & Experience

At least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Rural Development, Development Studies, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of proven experience in social/community mobilization, preferably involving the formation and engagement of farmer groups.

Experience working with farmers in agricultural value chains will be preferred.

Experience in Punjab is essential.

Fluency in Urdu and the local dialect is essential.

Fluency in spoken English is desirable.
