Consultant  

1. Background

A research based organizatrion is implementing a project to develop a National Roadmap for Green Industrialization in Pakistan. The initiative examines industrial decarbonization pathways through sectoral analysis, technology assessment, and policy research. It also explores financing mechanisms and analytical approaches to support the transition toward lower-carbon industrial development. The Research Assistant will contribute to research, data analysis, modeling, and technical reporting across the project's workstreams.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct desk research and literature reviews on industrial decarbonization, CBAM, energy transition, and green finance relevant to Pakistan's textile sector.
• Support data collection, cleaning, and organization for carbon intensity benchmarking and cost-of-inaction analysis.
• Assist with LEAP-based energy and emissions modeling.
• Support the drafting, formatting, and referencing of roadmap chapters and technical reports.
• Help maintain the project's Key Informant Interview (KII) process by distinguishing verified desk research from findings that require primary validation.

3. Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics, Environmental or Energy Studies, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant research experience. Experience in industrial decarbonization, climate policy, trade, or CBAM is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Familiarity with STATA and LEAP modeling.
• Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
